Graduate Assistant Directors

The Pride of Connecticut offers two graduate assistantships per year in the UConn Department of Music. Graduate Assistant Directors are in charge of many of the operational aspects of the UCMB and assist directly in the development of the musical and marching programs of the band. These two graduate school students are professional teachers who are earning advanced degrees from the University of Connecticut, and act as a direct voice for the director of the UCMB. They are directly involved in show design and charting, and assist the band director in instruction of music and drill during rehearsals. Graduate Assistants are valued leaders and members of the UCMB family, a tremendous resource for the band, and often called on for advice and help in many situations. Specific rehearsal responsibilities develop as the Graduate Assistant remains with the band and his/her particular talents can be incorporated into the fabric of the UCMB's operations. In the event of the absence of the directors, Graduate Assistants act fully in that capacity.

For more information on Graduate Assistantships with the Pride of Connecticut, contact Dr. David Mills.
