Amy Bovin returns for her fifth year in the University of Connecticut Marching Band as Head Drum Major. Previously, she spent the first three years in the band as a member of the flute section, two of which she was a section leader. Last year, she was Drum Major. Before coming to UConn, Amy was a part of the Danbury High School Marching Hatter Band for four years. Also marching in the flute section, she was the section leader for her sophomore, junior and senior year. In addition to being a part of the marching band, Amy is also a member of the UConn Pep Band, where she plays piccolo, as well as a member of the UConn Concert Band where she plays saxophone and percussion.

Currently, Amy is a Music Education major where she is working towards a BA in Music in the School of Fine Arts (where she has made Dean's List multiple times) and a BS in Education in the NEAG School of Education. She is a member of both the University Wind Ensemble and University Symphony Orchestra where she plays flute, piccolo and alto flute. In addition to ensembles, Amy is very proud to be a sister of Tau Beta Sigma, National Honorary Band Sorority where she has held the positions of Chapter Corresponding Secretary (05-06), Northeast District Secretary (06-07), Northeast District President (07-08), Chapter Vice President of Membership (Spring 08), and is currently the Chapter Parliamentarian. She is also a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Sigma Alpha Phi, the National Society for Leadership and Success.

She is an active member in the band, having served as a Clarinet Section Leader (woot!), and is a Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, National Honorary Band Fraternity. In high school, Kira served as Bristol Central's Drum Major for two years under the direction of Mr. Ken Bagley and Mr. John Abucewitz. She was a member of Concert Band, Jazz Band, Wind Ensemble, Clarinet Choir, Winter Guard, and Footlights. She was also a section leader of the Concert Choir, directed the choir on tour to Canada in spring, 2005, and received several awards for music, including the Music Honor Award for two years, and the Outstanding Achievement Award from FJM Clinics, a Drum Major camp in Rhode Island. In attending the University of Connecticut, Kira is a Biological Sciences major with minors in Molecular and Cellular Biology (MCB) and Psychology. She hopes to attend Graduate School in the future to become a Physician's Assistant for Pediatric Oncology and work in cancer research.

While in High School, he played with the Air Force Band and the Western Regional Bands, given the Sousa Award for Outstanding Achievement in Bands.

In the UCMB, Adam has been a member of the Tuba section for four years, serving as Section Leader for the last two.
