MATT GWOREK
Instrument of Choice: Baritone
(Though I call it a euphonium when I want to sound fancy)
Hometown: Southington,
CT
Major:
Music Education
Hey! So my name's Matt. I'm a junior here at
the
lovely University of Connecticut, and I just so happen to be one
of the Baritone Section Leaders for the 2007 season (along with the
lovely lady right below me). Now I know you're all thinking,
"Wow, he looks so cool. I'll never be cool enough to fit in
with this section," but do not fret! Simply scroll down some
more, and you'll find plenty of other Baritone players that are much
less cool than I am.
Much like most any Baritone player, I was foolish and started playing
on something other than this glorious instrument. Back when I
was a mere youngster, I played the alto saxophone. As a high
school senior, though, I got ambitious and decided to make the switch,
and it's a good thing I did since I now get to hang out with all the
rest of the kids on this page.
In addition to marching around with my baritone in hand, I'm a proud
Brother of Kappa Kappa Psi, the National Honorary
Fraternity for College Bandmembers.
Next year, I'll be coming back for my third year in the Pride of
Connecticut UConn Marching Band and want
to see YOU in the best section in the band. So do yourself a
favor and "Switch to Baritone." Trust me, you won't regret it. |
