Show Style

The Pride of Connecticut draws together elements from traditional marching bands, competitive drum corps (DCI), and Southern show bands into its own highly entertaining and spirited style, unique among college bands. The great challenge for the UCMB is to produce a "WOW" factor for the many diverse audiences it performs for. It has been said that the Pride of Connecticut "owned" Memorial Stadium on the University of Connnecticut campus, captivating each of the 16,000 fans in the intimate stadium atmosphere. Since moving into 40,000 seat Rentschler Field, on a scale of one to ten the UCMB has cranked it up to eleven, thrilling the crowd with strong and exciting musical selections, movement, and color that demands an enthusiastic response from the football crowd. The UCMB show also includes challenging contemporary drill and visual effects along with technically impressive solo and sectional music features that the band competion audience love. The effect of the Pride of Connecticut's 300 members performing enthusiastically in united precision is overwhelming.
