Varsity Pep Bands

The UConn Pep Band is an auditioned group of student musicians who perform and cheer on the UConn Men's and Women's basketball teams at all home games.

There are two traveling pep bands, Blue Band and White Band. These bands split the home schedules of the Men's team and Women's team at Gampel Pavilion on campus at Storrs, and at the XL Center in Hartford, CT. These bands also split any post-season travel opportunities, such as the Big East Tournaments, and the NCAA Tournaments. Past trips have included Seattle, Miami, San Antonio, New York City. Philadelphia, San Antonia, and New Orleans.

Any full time UConn student may audition for Pep Band, however, preference is given to members of the UConn Marching Band. Auditions usually take place in October.

Students who cannot commit time to a traveling Pep Band may audition for Husky Band. These Husky Band members need to attend a certain number of games, but can sign up for games that best fit their schedule.

Pep Band is a 1-credit class that students are required to sign up for in the spring semester. The class number is MUSI 1109-001, and meets on Tuesday nights.
